I'm facing the same issue as the one of Micha in this topic here, I can't update my social media cover image for sharing :

I understand that YOAST SEO is acting wrong in some way but I don't know how exactly. I tried to deactivate the plugin but nothing changes, the target url which Meta is pointing at still doesn't update.

Any idea ?

hey you need to set your frontpage in settings → reading

this way yoast will set the correct meta image for the frontpage

yoast thinks your frontpage is the page you set in settings → reading
it doesnt know that lay theme has its own setting in customizer
