Hey, I have the same problem. I have laytheme versions and I do not have such a carusel option.

my +1 was for the original post:
carousel caption not showing on my frontend (does show in backend), no problems with captions for individual images, so workaround is to add carousel caption to every individual image… -

yes. In the carousel you need to add the captions manually.
It does not take the original image captions.I wrote that down for the future.

Before you post:
- When using a WordPress Cache plugin, disable it or clear your cache.
- Update Lay Theme and all Lay Theme Addons
- Disable all Plugins
- Go to Lay Options → Custom CSS & HTML, click "Turn Off All Custom Code", click "Save Changes"

- Post a link to where the problem is
- Does the problem happen on Chrome, Firefox, Safari or iPhone or Android?
- If the problem is difficult to explain, post screenshots / link to a video to explain it
