Changing homepage

Hey guys,
I’ve created a new homepage today after installing the latest update. Initially when I set it to be the homepage, the live homepage was defaulting to the previous homepage. So I deleted the previous homepage as I no longer needed it, thinking it would resolve the problem. But instead, now the live homepage shows no content other than the menu and site title. Whichever page I set as the homepage has the same issue. I’m assuming this is a bug caused by all the recent updates. As I never had this issue before. Can you help asap? I’ve had to revert to a holding page in the meantime!!

if you create a lay theme website next time please use wordpress of wordpress.org, not wordpress.com as described in the installation instructions
