Unfortunately not at this moment - When uploading files to your Wordpress' "Media Library" webp files cannot be chosen.

My only thoughts for a work around would be to add the images via <img src=> directly into the gridder with ' More - +HTML'

There are plugins for converting webp files to upload them into wordpress but i cannot say how they may clash with Lay Theme - this is the unknown :)
