  • Fullscreen Slider > Always disable for phone
    B bro
    Bug Reports

    Hi guys,

    Here with another small bug, for ‘Fullscreen Slider > Always disable for phone’.

    When on mobile window size, the page loads as it should: with all of the rows below each other, none of them fullscreen. When I then widen the browser width beyond the desktop breakpoint, the page reverts to the fullscreen slider, also as it should.

    But when I then make the window mobile size again, the fullscreen layout stays enabled, and does not revert back to the original layout with rows below each other, unless of course I refresh the page.

    Can you look into it?

    Thanks!

    (Lay Theme 3.3.7 / Fullscreen Slider v 1.5.1)

  • HTML-Option for the Mobile Site Title
    B bro
    General Discussion

    Dear @mariusjopen

    Yes, that absolutely works. Thanks for the suggestion!

    (However, I do not prefer to do it this way: custom HTML elements load differently than other elements on the site (fade ins), which in my opinion looks a little sloppy, especially for a site title – though I fully understand if you do not share the same concern.)

    Best regards!

  • HTML-Option for the Mobile Site Title
    B bro
    General Discussion

    @mariusjopen

    I too would love an HTML option for the Mobile Site Title. Mostly because the site title on one of my sites is long, and having an HTML option would allow me to shorten it for Mobile. E.g. a site title like the following:

    <div>Short Title<span style="display: none"> — Extension of the Site Title</span></div>

    So the site title would display in the extended version in the browser history and in the browser window title, but on the website would only display the short version of the title.

    I was happy to see this was made possible for Desktop, but the Mobile still uses the general site title. The only way I have been able to solve this is by adding code to the PHP, which needs to be repeated with every update.

    Bug Reports

    @jensdan Is ‘Detect Browser Language’ checked (qTranslate plugin settings > General)? If so, you could try turning that off. See if that works.

    EDIT: Also, from what I understood, the plugin remembers what language you were looking at the last time you visited the site. Do not know if that is a setting.

  • 3.2.5 Intro transition does not work most of the time (Safari 13.1)

    Bug Reports

    When visiting website the Intro transition (e.g. Go Up, Fade Out) does not work. 'Transition duration' and 'Hide after waiting' are set to 900ms. Intro just cuts to Home page without transition. This is on Safari 13.1.

  • Carousel Update: images slide in from right on page load

    Is there a way to disable the way images in carousels slide in from the right on page load? This behaviour is new to the updated carousel.

    Am using the carousel on multiple sites with fade transition and with no transition at all.

    +1 for this.

    @mariusjopen is this possible? When I look at the site code, these autoplay videos inside carousels have a .loop class added, even when I don’t activate loop when adding them. Doesn't happen when placing videos as standalone.

    Am hearing that Lightbox is not working on our live site on Internet Explorer. Is this a bug or is there just no support for IE/Lightbox/Lay Theme?

    Please advise.

    Feedback

    Hello everyone,

    Thought I would share this here for future reference, and/or as feedback.

    I think I managed to add working SVG support to the Gridder, by following these steps:

    1. Add SVG Support plugin to your WP.

    This just makes sure you’re actually able to see the SVGs when you add them to your Media Library, as well as be able to add them as images in the Gridder.

    1. Add the solution offered by Laxmana on this page to your theme’s functions.php file (just copy paste his code to the bottom of your theme’s functions.php file).
    function svg_meta_data($data, $id){

        $attachment = get_post($id); // Filter makes sure that the post is an attachment
        $mime_type = $attachment->post_mime_type; // The attachment mime_type

        //If the attachment is an svg

        if($mime_type == 'image/svg+xml'){

            //If the svg metadata are empty or the width is empty or the height is empty
            //then get the attributes from xml.

            if(empty($data) || empty($data['width']) || empty($data['height'])){

                $xml = simplexml_load_file(wp_get_attachment_url($id));
                $attr = $xml->attributes();
                $viewbox = explode(' ', $attr->viewBox);
                $data['width'] = isset($attr->width) && preg_match('/\d+/', $attr->width, $value) ? (int) $value[0] : (count($viewbox) == 4 ? (int) $viewbox[2] : null);
                $data['height'] = isset($attr->height) && preg_match('/\d+/', $attr->height, $value) ? (int) $value[0] : (count($viewbox) == 4 ? (int) $viewbox[3] : null);
            }

        }

        return $data;

    }

    add_filter('wp_update_attachment_metadata', 'svg_meta_data', 10, 2);

    What this beautiful piece of code does, is make sure the dimensions of your SVGs are read when you upload your SVGs to the Media Library, and adds this to the file’s info.

    Lay Theme needs these dimensions to determine the aspect ratio of your images (regardless of their file type), which in turn is needed to correctly determine how much space these images are taking on your website.

    1. You can now upload your SVGs to your Media Library, and start adding them to the Gridder as images.

    Enjoy!

    @mariusjopen @arminunruh

    1. Could you please confirm this is a working solution, and that it doesn't break anything? I am by no means a coder…

    2. If this is a working solution, maybe you could consider adding this function to the theme?

  • px instead of %

    Feedback

    I would love to have a px option instead of % for basically everything, and mostly for:
    • mobile spaces
    • column gutters
    • intro svg overlay margins
    • …

    To get px consistent responsive layouts.

    @mariusjopen @arminunruh
    Something to consider?
