(FYI)
The idea ist to post a big amount of images via element grid to a site and then have the image cations all drawn automatically from the iptc data rather than writing a caption for every single image by hand. Could be a nice feature i guess. My weblog with standard wp theme does this and it is very helpful. Maybe sometime lay can have this too :)

I super like the element grid, however i'm having a hard time using it. Whenever i fill it with some images, the small square thumbs on the left side are not generated, thus making it impossible to arrange all images correctly.
This is happening in all browsers.

For a client project im using a plugin and it kind of works with some kind of workaround (adapting gutter heights and mobile layouts), but native lay support would be perfect!

Hey there im working on a little workaround which is kinda lame when youre a coding noob like me.
Anyway, i modified an exisitng fiddle to this:

But i cant seem to figure out how to make it work in lay. I copy the css part in the custom css field, the js part (wih <script> tags) in the custom head field, and the html part in a gridder text bos using the <> source code box.
But i cannot seem to get it to work correctly, this is the result.
What am i doing wrong here? Something with the classes?

Hey Marius! Ok i think i fixed it (and by it im talking about my own stupidity).
I checkd the plugin folder on the ftp and noticed that the sliders folder was called "laytheme-magneticslides-2", which happens when you download the same zip etc. on a mac more than once. I deleted the plugin, renamed the zip, reuploaded it, updated it to the current version and voila it works.
Anyway i think this might have been the problem.
I just did not think of this since in the backend all looked fine as always.

So i set up a laytheme page, installed the slider plugin and updated both to the latest version. however, the slider does not seem to work in any way. I tried all kinds of settings and created new project pages but the content ist still shown one element below each other as in the gridder backend, like the slider is not even installed. Oddly enough, on my second site that runs all the same settings , all works fine.

OK update: i found out that the wrong alignment of content in the backend is caused by the latest update of the "WP Statistics" plugin. I deactivated it and all is fine.
Hey Armin it occurs that the gridder padding thing came back with the latest update? I get a wrong gridder backend on two seperate laytheme installations. The backend of a friend who stillt runs an older v. 2.1.5 looks fine, as did mine before going to 2.2.3.
Anybody else having this problem?

//edit: it also looks like changes made in the gridder backend, like changing picture sizes etc. are not applied in he frontend when hitting the update button..
Uhh, ok now there is another problem: the box to set a project thumbnail on the right is missing :/
Plugins are alle deactivated, not sure what causes this. I think we need your help again :)
Hey Armin ok we fixed this: The bug was caused by Jetpack plugin, not sure why. We deactivated it and now all is fine!

Wordpress is the latest version, lay is the latest version. Uploader shows when using another theme. Tried deleting and re-installing lay, then updating to current version, still nothing. Im out of ideas :)

Yes that would be super neat. I figured esp. as a photographer it would be quite decent for clients or other visitors to be able the see a project overview with small thumbs showing all images of a project.
Since im using the fullscreen slider addon, this seems not to be possible since only one row is displayed at a time. For now, im composing a pattern-like overview and place it as a single pic in one row at the end of a project, but it is not ideal. example here: http://sebastianlock.de/haselnussernte/
Maybe i am missing something :) Anyway, that would be super neat and i think i would not be the only one finding this absolutely helpful.

Ok now im on my mbp and not in the big screen and the backend padding overlay is still there. looks like the tool bar lay on top of the first row below. I think its the "show guides" checker. when the browser screen is not at full 13'' width, it looks normal.
frontend seems to work nicely now!
